Hot stone massage with heated basalt stones at Larosa Spa Al Jaddaf Dubai

Hot Stone Massage in
Al Jaddaf, Dubai

Heat reaches places hands alone cannot. In a hot stone massage, smooth basalt stones are warmed and placed along the back and limbs, letting stiff muscles unwind before any pressure is applied. It is the treatment we recommend most often for guests carrying tension that ordinary massage has not shifted. From AED 250 at Larosa Spa, Al Jaddaf.

What Is a Hot Stone Massage?

Basalt is a volcanic rock that holds heat far longer than most materials — which is why it has been used in massage for centuries. The stones are heated to a controlled temperature, then rested on key points along the spine, shoulders and legs while the therapist works around them.

Some stones stay still to warm an area through; others are held in the therapist’s hand and glided over the muscle as an extension of the massage itself. The result is a session that feels slower and deeper than a standard treatment, without needing heavy pressure to get there.

How It Differs From Other Massages

A quick comparison if you are deciding between treatments.

Treatment

Pressure

Best for

Hot Stone

Light to medium, heat does the work

Deep stiffness, cold-weather aches, poor sleep

Deep Tissue

Specific knots, chronic back and shoulder pain

Hot Oil

General relaxation, dry skin, first-time guests

Benefits of Hot Stone Massage

Reaches deeper without heavy pressure

Sustained heat penetrates layers that hands would need considerable force to reach — useful if firm massage feels uncomfortable to you.

Eases stiffness from air conditioning

Long hours in cold offices and cars leave shoulders and neck tight. Heat is a direct counter to that particular kind of stiffness.

Supports better sleep

Many guests book a late evening session and report sleeping unusually well afterwards. Our 2 AM closing makes that easy to arrange.

Recovery after travel

Long flights leave the body compressed and cold. Heat plus slow movement is one of the quickest ways to feel normal again.

What to Expect During Your Session

01 · Preparation

Stones are heated in advance and tested before they touch your skin. Your therapist checks the temperature is comfortable for you at the start.

02 · Placement

Stones are positioned along the back and legs and left to warm the area. Meanwhile the therapist works other regions with oil and hand technique.

03 · Gliding

Warm stones are then moved slowly along the muscle. This is where most guests feel the tension actually let go. Speak up any time if the heat feels too strong.

Who Is Hot Stone Massage For?

Choose this if your muscles feel stiff rather than knotted, if firm pressure has felt uncomfortable in the past, or if you simply want the most restful treatment on our menu. It is also a strong choice in winter months and for anyone who spends long days in heavily air-conditioned buildings.

Guests travelling through Dubai Airport book it regularly to recover from long-haul flights, and it is popular with residents of Creek Harbour and Oud Metha as a weekend reset.

Please tell us before booking if you are pregnant, have diabetes, high blood pressure, reduced skin sensation, or any heart condition. Heat-based treatments are not suitable in some of these cases and we will recommend a gentler alternative instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the stones too hot?

No. Stones are heated to a controlled temperature and tested before use. They should feel warm and comforting, never uncomfortable. Tell your therapist immediately if anything feels too hot and it will be adjusted.

Is hot stone better than deep tissue?

Neither is better — they solve different problems. Hot stone suits general stiffness and relaxation; deep tissue suits specific knots and chronic pain. If you are unsure, mention your symptoms when booking and we will suggest one.

Will oil be used as well?

Yes. A light oil allows the stones to glide smoothly and lets the therapist work by hand between stone placements.

How will I feel afterwards?

Warm, loose and usually quite sleepy. Drink water afterwards and avoid strenuous activity for the rest of the day if you can.

Can I book late at night?

Yes. Larosa Spa is open daily until 2 AM, including weekends and public holidays. Late sessions are common among guests who finish work after dark or land on evening flights.

Do I need to book in advance?

Walk-ins are welcome, but hot stone sessions need the stones heated in advance — booking ahead on WhatsApp means everything is ready when you arrive.
